What is the EMsculpt?

How does EMsculpt work?

EMsculpt uses a focused electromagnetic field to induce powerful muscle contractions. As the muscle tissue is forced to adapt, it responds by strengthened its underlying fibrous structures. The entire process is similar to the natural process that occurs when you voluntarily contract muscles during exercise or weight training, except the EMsculpt can actually induce supramaximal contractions which are larger than what a person can induce voluntarily. Such muscles toning and strengthening can be used in the context of physical therapy to supplement other strengthening and stretching techniques.

What is the muscle strengthening procedure like?

The non-invasive procedure involves securing a pad over the intended muscles to treat and then letting the device induce muscle contractions in the area for 30 minutes. The contractions feel like an intense workout, but many people can relax during the session. Some people find the sensation similar to other muscle stimulation therapies. In general, a treatment plan includes 4 30-minute sessions spaced 2-3 days apart; however, each person may require other variations and supplemental treatments.
